Please forgive the vast generalisations, gender stereotypes, and the somewhat unintentional feminist undertones. Hopefully you will understand my point and not get offended.
I occurred to me yesterday they there is no feminine for the word emasculate. And the weird thing is a feel quite strongly about this.
To me the word emasculate means the make a man feel like less of a man or manly. And is often used when a man cannot do something that is 'stereotypically' deemed manly. I think that part of being manly is being able to take pride in being able to do 'stereotypically' manly things. Thus being robbed of ones pride in feeling emasculated. And in there being no feminine for emasculate there seems to be a suggestion that there is no pride in being womanly or feminine. What do you say when a woman feels like less of a woman? If she can't do things 'stereotypically' deemed feminine.
From my understanding and personal experience men tend to have more of a pride complex and are more often and more easily offended when their pride brought into play. Women tend not to be so sensitive. However, I do believe that there should be a feminine for this word because there is pride in being feminine.
Okay I'll stop now.... Don't judge me.

Wow, I was just having this very conversation. As a feminist, I find it interesting that there isn't a word for a woman's femininity being challenged. I wanted to coin this word and will start using it frequently. It's nice to know there are others thinking the same thing.
